ADDIE Model is a product of militaristic planning developed in the 1970's. Over time, the model has encountered over twenty different revisions. It is one of the most recognized learning design model known within the educational field. Let's look at five stages of ADDIE design model:
Analysis: In this phase, you identify the problem and gather information about it to define the learning goals and objectives. The point is to collect as much information as possible, which will help the decision-making process during the course development. You'll want to outline instructional goals and objectives and survey the learners to identify skill and knowledge gaps.
Design: Based on the data gathered in the previous step, the Instructional Designer will create a storyboard from which the course can be developed. The outline, course content, and objectives all come together to help consolidate the design.
Development: In this step, the Instructional Designer brings together the production, testing, prepares the deliverables, and ensures that the course has the necessary elements to be started.
Implement: This is when your courses are live in the LMS and learners can start to take and complete courses
Evaluate: Evaluation happens throughout the process, but it is even more essential at the end of the course, in this step, where the designer can assess the success of the class by measuring whether learners and trainers have achieved the desired learning objectives.
